Adoption Update

Since our last update, a lot has happened with respect to the adoption process. Kim's TB test came back questionable, which means she has come into contact at some point in her life (common for Aussies), but isn't at risk. My doc forgot to send my results to the agency, causing another delay. Heaps of forms had to be filled out and mailed off. I now understand why adoptive families call the paperwork a unique form of "labour pains".

The most exciting news is that tomorrow we have our first home study meeting with our social worker! While we are a little nervous, it is great to have another big step coming up. In fact, we are blessed that we have already met our social worker when she led a workshop on attachment disorder. She also shared about what to expect in a home study. She was very helpful and friendly, which has already set us at ease. Be praying.

Finally, the Adopt-A-Pixel project has gone well so far. We have already seen more than 2,500 pixels of the 20,000 adopted out. For those not familiar with it, check out the website and get involved. We would also love it if you would help get the word out on your own blogs and circles. We have a long way to go, but we have been blown away by peoples support and generosity.

Thanks all!
